The Challenge
Simply Rental Cars was not only choosing rental software. It was building the digital foundation for a new car rental business and needed the software, website and payment process to work as one complete operational system.
The company needed to collect driver-license issue and expiration dates for both the main driver and additional drivers, with date validation and reusable document/email tokens. It also required integration with JCC, a local payment provider, including test and live environments, secure SSL, gateway configuration and reliable synchronization between successful payments and reservation status.
At the same time, the client required substantial implementation assistance. Domain records, SMTP, Google Maps, SSL, template behavior, payment testing and post-payment customer flow all needed to be configured or refined. SEO improvements were also requested to strengthen the website's visibility after the core booking operation was in place.

VEVS combined standard software functionality, hands-on setup, technical consultation and targeted custom development so Simply Rental Cars could launch and operate around its actual business process.
Complete online car rental operation for a new business
Simply Rental Cars needed more than a reservation form. The company needed a professional website, rental software, customer and fleet management, payments, automated emails and an online back office that could support daily operations from launch.
VEVS provided the complete web-based Car Rental Software and integrated website, then supported the client through setup and launch. The solution gave the business one platform for online reservations, customer data, fleet control, payments, notifications and website management without requiring locally installed software.
Custom driver's-license issue and expiration fields
The standard checkout did not collect all the driver information Simply Rental Cars wanted. The company required Driver's License Issue Date and Driver's License Expiration Date for the main driver and any additional driver.
VEVS developed new date-picker fields with validation rules: issue dates can only be today or in the past, while expiration dates can only be today or in the future. The same fields were added to reservation administration, and new tokens were created so the information could be reused in notification templates and rental documents.
Custom JCC Hosted Payment Gateway integration
Simply Rental Cars needed to accept online payments through JCC, an important payment provider for its Cyprus operation. The gateway was not part of the original installation and required documentation, merchant testing, SSL and coordination with JCC.
VEVS reviewed the JCC developer documentation and implemented the Hosted Payment Gateway using the HTTPS Post Redirect method. The team also helped complete technical documentation, configured test credentials, supported JCC testing and later switched the integration from the test environment to the live transaction URL.
Automatic synchronization between JCC payments and reservations
During live testing, JCC payments were successfully received by the payment provider, but the reservation could remain pending and the expected payment confirmation emails were not always generated. That would have forced the team to monitor payments manually.
VEVS investigated the callback process, enabled payment logging and made several integration adjustments until successful JCC payments were correctly recognized by the booking system. After the final test, the client confirmed that the JCC payment flow was working properly.
Hands-on launch setup and technical configuration
The client needed help with technical tasks outside normal car rental operations, including domain pointing, DNS records, SMTP settings, Google Maps, SSL installation and template issues.
VEVS actively assisted with the setup rather than leaving the client to resolve it alone. The team corrected DNS records, linked the domain, fixed SMTP configuration, resolved a Fleet page template issue, guided Google Maps setup and installed the SSL certificate required for JCC approval and secure online payments.
Improved customer experience after online payment
After online payment, customers were originally returned to a generic Thank You page. Simply Rental Cars wanted a more useful completion step with reservation information, the booking reference and an option to print the booking.
VEVS changed the post-payment redirect so customers could reach a more useful booking-complete view after a successful online transaction. The developers implemented this additional improvement free of charge after the main payment integration had been delivered.
SEO and website improvements
Once the core booking operation was established, Simply Rental Cars also required SEO improvements to strengthen the website as a direct customer-acquisition channel.
VEVS supported the website beyond the booking engine by providing SEO-oriented improvements alongside the integrated CMS and website service. This gave the client one provider for both rental operations and the ongoing development of its customer-facing website.
